Allegations and complaints could be a serious cases, which is why a dental attorney is needed if you get accused of this kind of scenario. However, some who thought they were guilty of the charges failed to hire a dental attorney just because they thought it’s the doom for their license already. But that is not entirely the case as there is still hope.

Unfortunately, a dentist from Austin failed to do this. Eventually, the allegations resulted in disciplinary action. Take note that the Board who handles all of the cases may affect the dentist’s license from receiving the suspension, disciplinary action, or revocation. However, with the right dental attorney for the case, rest assured that the case can go according to the dentist’s favor, especially if the dentist has a good defense against the case.

During the time period from January 23, 2014, through June 26, 2014, the dentist failed to meet the minimum standard of care during the dental treatment of a patient. Specifically, the dentist:

  1. failed to remove a remnant of the root tip of tooth number 25 following surgical extraction;
  2. prepared a four-unit bridge when a three-unit bridge would have been more appropriate; and
  3. failed to diagnose whether decay was present on tooth number 28.

Subsequently, the dentist also failed to make, maintain, and keep adequate records concerning the dental treatment of a patient. Specifically, her records failed to adequately document vital signs on May 1, 2014,  the office at which the doctor worked at the time failed to retain his record of the treatment provided on June 26, 2014, and an explanation as to why the items above were not recorded.

This is the reason why the dentist’s license was disciplined and suspended.
