Losing your license may greatly affect your future career, but only if you failed to hire a dental attorney for the case. There are some dentists who missed their chances to get their license saved from revocation just because they weren’t able to hire any dental attorney to defend them. Unfortunately, this dentist from El Paso, Texas happens to be one of them.

.According to the complaint, the patient was unhappy with the appearance of her teeth. So decided to make an appointment to see the dentist for a consultation to decide what options would be best for her. She was advised that veneers would be a good route to go down. Wanting to close the gap in her front teeth, the patient agreed to have the veneers fitted.

While things seemed to be going okay at first with the veneers it didn’t take long for gaps to reappear. The patient went back to the dentist complaining of pain and dissatisfaction with the appearance of the veneers.

Still seeing no improvement with her teeth, the patient arranged an appointment with another dentist. She was advised that she had gum disease which was why her teeth were drifting. The veneers should not have been placed until after the gum disease was treated correctly. The veneer preparation which was undertaken had caused significant damage to four front teeth.

As a result of the dentist’s negligence, the patient will now face future treatment which will include veneer replacement, root canal treatment, and crowns. She has suffered from discomfort, toothache, and social embarrassment.

Because of this, the patient filed a complaint and the dentist was summoned to hear her side. Unfortunately, with the lack of an effective dental attorney to defend her case, the Board decided to take disciplinary action against the dentist.
