Dentists facing cases they never committed should hire a dental attorney to strengthen their defense. Professional help can provide a better form of defense against Board as dentist faces an accusation of any allegations they wish to deny. This is just one of the many cases the dentist from Houston should have known had she only hired a dental attorney to help her.

The incident occurred on or about February 6, 2011, when the dentist failed to recognize and treat periodontal disease.

During the period of February to April 2011, the patient had veneers fitted, underwent deep scale polishing, a replacement veneer was fitted, had a crown fitted and various root canal treatments.

In 2012, the patient attended an alternative dental practice complaining of immense pain. It was noted that the patient was suffering from advanced adult periodontitis and had several mobile teeth. By 2013 the prognosis for various teeth was extremely poor and was advised that those teeth may require extraction.

It was alleged that the dentist failed to diagnose the patient’s periodontal disease and failed to appropriately interpret the radiographic evidence. Furthermore, the dentist failed to investigate the patient’s deteriorating periodontal condition and failed to advise her of the disease and the treatment required.

The dentist also failed to monitor the patient’s disease and failed to refer her to a periodontal specialist.

The dentist was given the chance to defend against her case and present herself to the Board. Despite her explanation, the Board placed her under disciplinary action but without any suspension whatsoever. Hiring the right dental attorney for this case would be of great help, knowing that she denied the accusations.
